Racing under the Richard’s Run for Life flag always means the best of sustenance for body and soul. Local restaurants donate refreshments and delicacies so that 100% of money raised can go to cancer research. Participants literally “run for life.”

This quote was a great motivator for me and still is. Using my experience as a runner and my desire to find a cure for cancer I created “Richard’s Run for Life” under the Gonzmart Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to fine a cure for cancer. Creating Richard’s run was a way to fulfill this goal of finding a cure.

Join the Team for the Gasparilla Distance Classic

Team Richard’s Run for Life will wear the cause on their sleeves Saturday, February 27, 2010 for the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic. When you join Team Richard's Run for Life, you and your supporters help fund advanced prostate cancer research. The Gonzmart Family Foundation will cover all expenses so that 100% of what you raise goes to the Advanced Prostate Cancer Collaboration Initiative at Moffitt Cancer Center. 8th Annual Richard's Run for Life 5k –

On November 6th, 2009, nearly 2000 people came to historic Ybor City for the Eighth Annual “Richard’s Run For Life” 5K event. Starting at 7:00 p.m. in Ybor City’s Centennial Park, friends and families ran or walked through the streets of historic Ybor, or simply enjoyed the food while helping researchers find a cure for cancer. 100% of all proceeds for this event will benefit the Amandelee Fund for Sarcoma Research at Moffitt Cancer Center. In addition to good company and a good cause, at the post-race party there was great music and food from local restaurants.

"We had a record turnout this year, over 1,900 runners, walkers and others helped us in our quest to help find a cure for cancer and to give hope to those fighting it," said Richard Gonzmart.
