Amandalee Ride for Life FUNDRAISING As Richard's Team Member, you are helping to save lives. Funds raised by Richard's Team will go to fund research of Pediatric Sarcoma at Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. Sarcoma is cancer of the bone marrow and is the number two cause of cancer in Children. Children are our future and we need to help them now. FUNDRAISING ONLINE The most effective way to spread the word about your decision to join Richard's Team and participate in an upcoming marathon (s), is to register online. E-mail friends and family and share with them your story of why you have chosen to join Richard's Team and let them know of your fundraising goals. (sample letter provided) Include the website address in your letter and encourage them to support you by going on line and make a donation in your name. Online donations will automatically be credited to your account and donors will receive acknowledgement from Richard's Run for Life. FUNDRAISING OFFLINE If you are not comfortable fundraising online you can encourage donors to make a pledge. You can use the Sponsor Contribution Sheet and Contribution Tracking Form to sign up as many friends, relative and co-workers as you can! It is a good idea to display pledge sheets in a highly visible location at work or at home, so people will know your running and collecting pledges. Checks should be made payable to Richard's Run For Life and include your Runner ID or Name in the memo line of the check. You must collect those pledges and mail them and the Contribution Sheet to the following address: Richard's Run for Life P.O. Box 5027 Tampa, Florida 33675-5027 NOTE Donations cannot be linked to your fundraising efforts without your Runner ID and full name. If you do not know your Runner ID number or have any questions you can contact us at info@richardsrunforlife.com. Donations made online will automatically be sent to the above address and processed with the Runner ID and name. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Q: What if the person who wishes to sponsor me wants to send their donation directly to Moffit Cancer Center? Can I still receive credit for this donation? A: Yes. However the person making the donation must reference the check, "Richard's Run For Life" and have your Runner ID and name. Q: What if someone works for a company that matches donations? A: That is not a problem. The person making the donation knows the company policy for this. Please e-mail us at info@richardsrunforlife.com for any additional information needed. Q: Can I raise funds by running other races? A: Yes! Definitely! If you are scheduled to run a 5K, 15K, half marathon or any other type of endurance sports use these events to help raise the funds you pledged.
